Objectives: To review and reintroduce the ideas of gravity and mass in terms of space.
Materials: SmartBoard and PowerPoint
Opening: As a class we will review what we learned in the previous class about the seasons. Then the class will complete a warm up activity: Weight is how much gravitational force is pushing down on you, while mass is the amount of matter you are.
Engagement: Using the SmartBoard and PowerPoint I will introduce/reintroduce some important vocabulary words: force, gravity, law of universal gravitation, mass, and weight. The students will be asked to draw in their scientists notebook examples of mass and distance.
Closing: The students will share and discuss with the class their pictures of mass and distance.
